Gerd Kanter opened his season yesterday in Wiesbaden, Germany. Kanter won the meet with world championships qualifier 65.87m. He was followed by Martin Wierig 65.56m, Simon Petterson with a new PB 64.77m, David Wrobel 64.66m, Markus Munch 63.87m, Matthew Denny 62.91m and Stienen Benedikt 60.84m.

Also on Saturday the Diamond Race first meet was held in Shanghai and Philip Milanov won with 64.94m, Piotr Malachowski was second 64.36m and Daniel Stahl third 64.11m.
