Men discus final was held today in Rio 2016 and it was a thrilling competiton from the start.

Olympic Champion from Beijing 2008 Gerd Kanter threw 65.10m in the first round, followed by Daniel Jasinski 65.77m also in opening round. Piotr Malachowski secured the lead with 67.32m.

Christoph Harting improved to 66.34m, Malachowski to 67.55m in the third round as well Jasinski to 66.08m.

And then things started to happen in the final round. Martin Kupper from Estonia threw 66.58m and took the 2nd position. He was followed by Daniel Jasinski who threw 67.05m and took the 2nd position. Christoph Harting entered the ring and threw a massive WL and PB of 68.37m. This gave him the Olympic title.
