German shot put star Kleinert toys with boxing career

Magdeburg, Germany- German shot putter Nadine Kleinert is toying with a boxing career after the Beijing Olympics or later, and has received an offer from the SES Magdeburg boxing club.

"I can imagine a boxing career for myself," said the 32-year-old Kleinert, who won Olympic silver in 2004 and a world championship bronze two months ago in Osaka in the shot put, on Saturday.

"The shot put comes first. I definitely want to be at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing," said Kleinert, who may also continue in athletics until the 2009 home worlds in berlin.

Kleinert said that boxing is part of her training regime and that she will train at the SES club which has made her an offer. Kleinert said she will reach a final decision on a possible boxing future at a later stage.
