21.09 Victory for Cantwell in Aarhus
Cantwell, who was a disappointing fifth at the U.S. championships last weekend, took the top spot with a third round 21.09. The 26-year-old, who reached a world-leading 21.96 at the adidas Track Classic a month ago, had just two legal throws. His other was a 19.69 effort in the opening round. Olsen, who extended the Danish national record to 21.63 in Copenhagen earlier this month, threw beyond 20 metres with each of his six throw, topped by his 20.82 in the second round. Osaka-bound Dan Taylor, runner-up at the US trials, was third with a 20.39 best. Elsewhere, Moroccans Ahmed Debay and Brahim Taleb won the 5000 and 3000m Steeplechase in 13:23.68 and 8:35.20 respectively, Algerian Samir Khadar took the 1500 in 3:39.26, California Molefe of Botswana was an easy victor in the 400 (46.26), and David Giralt of Cuba won the Triple Jump with a 16.80 leap.
